The folks/computers in charge of creating the NHL schedule have done it again. Last season the Blues always seemed to have a ton of games in hand while the rest of the league played a busy schedule. It’s more of the same in 2014-15 as the Blues skate in just their third game of the year while others (like Boston) participate in their sixth.
As you might imagine, the light schedule has been extremely frustrating for fans, but it’s also been pretty hard on the players and Ken Hitchcock.
When asked about the team’s inactivity, here’s what Ken Hitchcock had to say:
Hitchcock on the long break: "It feels like we weren’t even in the League, like we were watching on television, and now we get to join it."

Truth. It almost feels like the long summer months all over again. Thankfully, the action will pick up here in a hurry. The Blues play the Kings on Thursday, the Coyotes on Saturday and the Ducks on Sunday. Does the schedule make sense? Not a chance, but that’s life in the NHL.
