T.J. Oshie “nowhere near getting close to playing”

Few updates have been released regarding T.J. Oshie’s status following the news that he suffered a concussion at the end of October. Since that time, the Blues quietly stashed Oshie on the IR due to lingering symptoms from his concussion. Is Oshie recovering? Are his symptoms improving? We don’t have many answers, but we do have one troubling quote from Ken Hitchcock.

Via STLToday.com:

“Osh showed up today — and left. He came for a visit, so that’s a good sign. He’s out, he’s walking around, there’s a sighting … it’s a good sign. But he’s nowhere near getting close to playing.”

Recovery time from a concussion varies dramatically. David Backes and Oshie suffered there’s during the same game. While Backes has already returned, Oshie appears to be a ways out.
