The Celtics plowed over the Cleveland Cavaliers 112-95 in Kendrick Perkins first game back from major knee surgery.
Perk looked solid – 7 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists in 16 minutes. The Garden crowd gave him a standing ovation when he entered the game with 8 minutes remaining in the 1st quarter. While he admitted being winded and a bit out of snyc, Perk exceeded all of my expectations.
Paul Pierce scored 17 of his 24 points in the 1st quarter. It appeared as if a face-to-face chat with Joey Graham ignited the Truth.
It looked as if Cleveland was going to make this a game. They shot 52% in the 1st quarter, but still trailed by 8 (thanks to Pierce's hot start). The Cs broke this game open in the 2nd quarter by outscoring the Cavs 33-19.
The Celtics made 11 threes, had 29 assists and committed just 9 TOs.
Can anyone tell me why Rajon Rondo played 43 minutes?
"This guys very active… he's no Frankenstein's monster." – Tommy after Semih blocked a shot in 3rd quarter
