Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there's nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump.
"Yeah, I questioned if I would play again, that night when I was laying on the floor,” Daniels said this week from his home in Orlando, Fla., where he is awaiting the next step, a June 28 meeting with doctors, who are expected to clear the mellow, soft-spoken Floridian for full workouts and a return to the NBA.
“They said there was a good chance they could correct it, but I also had to wait,” Daniels said of the prognosis. “That was the tough part. A lot of things went through my mind. But I just had to wait it out.”
[…] “Everything is looking good for me to play again,” he said, adding that agent Mark Bartelstein told him “to do what I normally do to get ready, and then we’ll see. It feels real good right now. It’s still healing, but it feels great.”
Herald: Marquis Daniels rebounds from major scare
That's great news about Marquis. That was a scary moment.
The Celtics season turned on a dime at that point. Quis was our only swingman and he had been playing pretty well up to that point. Perk had recently come back and Delonte was a couple of weeks from returning. The Celtics were the #1 seed and things were looking great.
When Quis went down, it forced Danny's hand. It was the worst possible scenario. Not just an injury… and not just a season-ending one… a career threatening injury. So we got "the trade".
Neither side was the same again. But the most important thing is Marquis is ok and we'll probably see him again. Although, as the piece says, not in a C's uniform. Those days are very likely done.
By the way, read the piece so you can see how tight this team really was. Good stuff in there.
