Ultimate 1-on-1 matchup #7: Tiny Archibald vs. Bill Sharman

1-on-1 Rajon Rondo smoked Rick Fox in yesterday's 1-on-1 matchup, taking 81% of the vote.  He's moving on in a few days to face John Havlicek in a "Hondo vs. Rondo" match.

But we've still got two first round matchups to get to before we get to our matchups against the top seeded players.  Today, we go back in time to pit 15th overall Bill Sharman against 18th overall Tiny Archibald.

(15) Bill Sharman
1-on-1 Advantage:  Shooting, scoring.  In the early days when the shooting wasn't so great, Sharman was still one of the best.  Considered one of the best free throw shooters of all time, so if he gets open, he'll hit a shot.

1-on-1 Disadvantage:  Size.  Sharman was only 6'1".  In a 1-on-1, make-it, take-it game, he'll be prone to being backed down or guys shooting right over him.  It will also make rebounding tough.

(18) Tiny Archibald

1-on-1 Advantage: Shooting, scoring.  Tiny was an explosive scorer.  He once averaged 34 points in a season.  His scoring tailed off for the Celtics, but he once shot close to 50% in a season for the C's.

1-on-1 Disadvantage:  Size.  Like Sharman, Tiny is only 6'1." In a 1-on-1, make-it, take-it game, he'll be prone to being backed down or guys shooting right over him.  It will also make rebounding tough.
