Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here... highlighting the big storyline. Because there's nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump.
With a division title within reach and 28 games left, Rivers said he doesn’t anticipate any major moves.
“I’m sure there will be more rumors, there’s nothing you can do about that,’’ Rivers said. “We pretty much know what we want to do.
“Like I said a week ago, I’d be surprised if we did anything. Obviously, if we find someone out there who wants to give us a player, we’ll take them.’’
Globe: Deadline seen as no big deal
Classic double-speak quote there. Can you imagine telling your girlfriend "Of course I'm never going to be with anyone else.. unless of course someone better comes along."
But that jives with the rest of the quotes and reports. The Boston Celtics will listen to what you have to offer, but they won't pull the trigger unless it legitimately makes the team better. And there hasn't been a single deal out there since the preseason that does that.
On Page 2: KG hits another milestone
The Celtics forward needed 24 minutes to become only the 12th player in league history to log 45,000 career minutes.
But he’s not stopping there. The Celtics forward had four defensive rebounds last night, leaving him with 10,115 career defensive rebounds, or two shy of Celtics great Robert Parish for second on that all-time NBA list. Karl Malone is the all-time leader with 11,406 defensive boards.

You can tack on another 4,083 playoff minutes and KG is at nearly 50,000 combined. At 49,083 combined minutes, he trails Jason Kidd (53,239) and Kobe Bryant (49,8000) on the active combined minutes list. Bryant, though, has twice as many playoff minutes as he is second all time in that category to Kareem Abdul Jabbar.
Let's hope KG gets to add a few playoff minutes to his total this season.
