Recap: Pierce, KG get aggressive in win over Bobcats

KGeyes

Led by a super-charged Paul Pierce, the Celtics beat the Bobcats tonight, 102-95.

Pierce (36 points, 10-20 FG, 15-18 FT, 10 rebounds, 3 steals, 3 blocks) played his best game of the season. He attacked the basket relentlessly.

Kevin Garnett (24 points, 10-20 FG) was also assertive with his offense. My favorite play of this game was Garnett's fake, drive and power dunk midway through the 4th quarter. at the end of the 3rd quarter.

Give some props to Brandon Bass who grabbed a couple of key rebounds late in the game.

This was another rollercoaster game. The Celtics jumped out to an 18 point lead in the 1st quarter. The predictable 2nd quarter free-fall followed and the lead dipped to 2 at halftime. The C's stretched the lead to 13 midway thru the 4th, but Charlotte ripped off a 10-1 run. The Celtics made enough plays in the final minutes to win.

Stat line for Rajon Rondo: 7 points, 1-7 FG, 13 assists and 6 rebounds. He was a game high +21.

Greg Stiemsma was hit with a BS technical foul. Derek Brown taunted Stiemsma after missing a dunk in the 3rd quarter. When Stiemsma jawed back, he was T'd up. Garbage…

Noteworthy stats:

Charlotte's bench scored 59 points. The Celtics reserves contributed 9 points.

Boston won the points in the paint: 44-30

If you take a peek at the standings, you'll find the Celtics tied with Philly atop the Atlantic Division.
