Enemy Chatter: Stiemsma changed the momentum

I often wonder what opposing teams, their beat reporters and bloggers are saying about the Celtics after playing the Celtics. Here's a dose of 'enemy chatter' from Orlando.

The momentum changed in the Celtics' direction when, with the Magic trailing 71-70, reserve forward Earl Clark went driving for a possible slam dunk when Celtics' reserve center Greg Stiemsma blocked Clark's attempt. On the ensuing fast break, Pierce made the short bucket, was fouled, and made the free throw.

Boston completed a 12-0 run after a Kevin Garnett basket to open the fourth quarter made the score 81-70 Celtics, and extended their lead to 91-78 before the Magic's comeback attempt in the final 7:16 fell just short because of the clutch play of Pierce.

Pinstriped Post

Greg Stiemsma rejecting shots like it ain't no thang. You know what I love most about the block on Clark? Steamer didn't sneak over from the weak side. He was in Clark's face the whole time. Just kept moving laterally on the drive and timed his jump perfectly.

Stiemsma will be a restricted free-agent with a $1.05 million qualifying offer. He wants to stay and the Celtics should be able to keep him, but never underestimate a silly GM throwing big money at a big man. It always happens.
