Tony Romo was lost in the 3rd quarter of an ugly win for the Dallas Cowboys over the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday. The injury it turns out, was a broken left collarbone, meaning Romo could be out anywhere from 8-12 weeks.
Enter Brandon Weeden, the former 2012 first round pick of the Cleveland Browns. This will mark the second straight season that Weeden starts in at least one game as a member of the Cowboys.
It’s a tough road up ahead for Weeden and the Cowboys, who are also without wide receiver Dez Bryant.
Up next are dates against the undefeated Falcons, a Sunday night game at New Orleans, then a meeting with the defending Super Bowl Champion Patriots, a rematch with the Giants in New York, and then back-to-back home games against the Seahawks and Eagles.
There’s a very real possibility that by the time they play Tampa Bay on November 15, Dallas could be looking at a record of 2-6, although that’s doubtful.
Dallas is hurting big time on offense, but they still have enough weapons and a solid defense to pull of a big win here and there.
