Timberwolves 2017-18 Schedule Released

AGKARLWIGGY

The NBA regular season schedule has been released, giving us Timberwolves fans a glimpse into the future when Minnesota’s season begins officially on Oct.18.

That October game will be played in San Antonio against the Kawhi Leonard led Spurs. It will be televised on ESPN at 8:30 p.m. central.

Minnesota is scheduled to play 25 nationally televised games on ESPN (9), NBATV (8), TNT (7), and ABC (1). Those 25 games are said to be the most in the team’s history, as stated by the Associated Press’ Jon Krawczynski on Twitter.

The lone ABC game will be played against the Golden State Warriors on Sunday, March 11 in Golden State.

GAMES TO WATCH

Utah at Home – Fri Oct.20

The first matchup that pops up is the home opener against a very familiar face. To open the newly renovated Target Center, Jimmy Butler and the new-look Wolves will welcome the Utah Jazz, with their brand new point guard Ricky Rubio at the helm.

It will highlight the first home game with a Timberwolves team not rostering Rubio since 2011 and should make for an electric atmosphere for many reasons.

At Golden State – Wed Nov.8

This will be the first time the new-look Wolves will battle with the defending champs and should make for an interesting early season test to see where the squad is at compared to the elite in the league.

It will also be interesting to see how the Wolves go about defending the Warriors lineup of death, and how well Jimmy Butler can slow down Kevin Durant, something past Wolves teams have always failed to truly do.

At Chicago – Fri Feb.9

Butlers first return to Chicago post-trade, and it should be a doozy. It will also be the first time we see Zach LaVine and Kris Dunn in a Bulls uniform playing their former team.

Emotions should be running high for both teams, and we are likely to see a very competitive game between two teams with many connections to one another. The game will be aired on ESPN at 7 p.m. central time, so be sure to tune in.

NOTES:

  • The Wolves will play two five-game home stands this season, something the fans can look forward to, as well as the players.
  • Minnesota will play 15 back-to-backs. Last season, the Wolves played 14.
  • The Timberwolves will play on New Year’s Eve against the Pacers in Indiana, as well as on New Years Day against the Los Angeles Lakers at home.
  • The Wolves also announced fans will be able to purchase single-game tickets starting this Thursday at 10 a.m.
