PLAYING CAREER:  Cincinnati Reds (1988–1989), Los Angeles Dodgers (1989–1993), Cincinnati Reds (1994–1998), New York Mets (1998), Colorado Rockies (1999), Arizona Diamondbacks (1999–2000), New York Mets (2000–2001), Milwaukee Brewers (2002), Chicago Cubs (2003) and Florida Marlins (2003–2005)

ACHIEVEMENTS:  Career .269 batting average.  All-time leader with 212 career pinch hits.  His 804 at bats as a pinch hitter are more than any other player in Major League history.

HOVG THOUGHTS:  In 18 seasons, Harris amassed a hit total total doesn’t even get him in the top 1000 of all-time.  That said, he was the most successful pinch hitter ever.  Ever.  I believe there is a place for Harris somewhere in Major League history…I’m just not sure it is in Cooperstown.
