Tim Wakefield Locks Down 200th Win

What’s the old saying…”the ninth time is the charm”?

Something tells me that if you asked Tim Wakefield, that would be the answer.

Tuesday night, the Boston Red Sox knuckleballer notched his 200th career victory with an 18-6 rout over the Toronto Blue Jays.

The 45-year-old Wakefield is the 108th pitcher to reach the milestone.  Since 1900, only 89 have reached the mark…and just 69 have done it since 1920.

Currently, he sits third all-time among Red Sox hurlers with 185 career wins in Boston.

Who is he trailing?

A couple of guys you might have heard of before…Cy Young and Roger Clemens.  Each of them collected 192 victories while playing in BeanTown.
