And if the modern day king of shedding light on the “things that make you go hmmm” makes a sequel…I’d like to add Pittsburgh Pirates reliever Jason Grilli to the list.
Here’s why.
Right before Christmas, a different Jason Grilli was, along with two buddies, arrested at a suburban Boston Holiday Inn with eleven kilos of cocaine. The trio was charged with trafficking cocaine and conspiracy to violate drug laws and, if convicted, faces a minimum of 15 years in prison.
“Grilli the Arrested” has even gotten the attention of “Grilli the Pitcher” who, interestingly enough, has been tweeting story developments to his more than 16,000 followers.
The best part though…the coke dude was carrying around in that duffle bag when he was busted was worth $1.1 million or, wait for it, roughly the same amount the Pirates spent to re-sign the 35-year-old righty less than two weeks prior.
Things that make you go “hmmm” indeed.
