The Goose Lets Loose! Again

The Goose Lets Loose! Again

It’s getting to the point where people talking about players not being in the Hall of Fame because of performance enhancing drugs is getting as annoying as speculating who did or didn’t juice.

One guy who continues to repeat himself is Goose Gossage.

The 2008 inductee was, again, just as he was on the eve of the Class of 2013 Hall of Fame announcement, out there banging the drum Thursday.

“We’ve got a bunch of cheaters that are up for the Hall of Fame,” Gossage told the crowd gathered for, of all places, the University of Calgary Dinos’ baseball and fastball fundraising dinner.  “I wish these guys who are lying would come clean. Roger Clemens was found innocent but so was O.J. and he killed two people. Stop lying and quit dragging baseball through the mud.”

Really…O.J. Simpson?  Wow.

If Gossage really wants to make news, he should step forward and talk about some of his former teammates that have been outed as users (or possible users).  Because, while the closer’s career didn’t extend that far into the fabled “steroid era”…he did share a clubhouse with the likes of Jose Canseco, Mark McGwire, Rafael Palmeiro, Juan Gonzalez and Ivan Rodriguez.

And my guess is that he might’ve seen or heard something at least once.
