Whoa, wait…this is a thing?
Friday, the Boston Red Sox opened up the ALDS at home against the Tampa Bay Rays. Problem…it was an afternoon game and, therefore, younger fans, more than likely, couldn't make it out to the game. Or could they?
Kerri McKinnon and her son Brian are big fans of the Red Sox and, with tickets in hand, decided they were going to make it there one way or another. So, she did what any other mother would do when faced with a dilemma…she wrote a note to her son's teacher.
Sure, there's going to be critics of this behavior (heck, I'm not even sure I approve), but if they're going to pretend to call recess and "choice time" (which, reportedly, was either chess or drawing) "school"…there's more to be learned by watching the Red Sox beat up on the Rays. More amazing than the fact it worked for Friday's Red Sox game, it also worked in Pittsburgh for some Pirates fans.
Now, if you'll excuse me…I've got some letters to write.
