Remember that old chestnut about Ozzie Guillen wanting to manage the Chicago Cubs? Well, you can scratch that…the former Chicago White Sox and Miami Marlins skipper has his eye on a different gig.
Managing the Detroit Tigers.
"My dream would be to manage the best, Miguel Cabrera," Guillen told a fan Thursday night.
Here's the thing, bringing in Guillen to deal with Cabrera might not be that bad of an idea. Consider this, they're both from Venezuela and apparently they're friends. As you might recall, the two were both with the Marlins in 2003…Guillen as the third-base coach and Cabrera as a rookie.
But, again, let's not rule out the Cubs.
"I just make it very clear, if they want me as a coach, the only team I will coach is the Cubs," Guillen told the Chicago Tribune. "The reason is, I live there. I don't have to move my family in and out."
So there you have it.
