Jose Canseco Lobbies for Longhorns Gig

Over the weekend, the University of Texas football team announced their longtime head coach Mack Brown would be stepping down after this, his sixteenth season with the Longhorns

"This is a very difficult day for everyone in the University of Texas family," school president Bill Powers said on Saturday. "Mack Brown is one of the best football coaches in the country."

Naturally, there's been no announcement as to who will be taking over for Brown, but one name has emerged as a possible replacement.  Well, to be more specific…a certain someone has thrown his hat into the proverbial ring.

Jose Canseco.

Oh, FYI…Steve Patterson is the name of the Athletic Director at Texas. This Steve Patterson, however, is not.

But that didn't stop Canseco. Why would it?

Now…I don't know a lot about college football, but I'm willing to bet that I've got about as much of a chance at becoming the Longhorns newest head coach as Canseco does.

However, the former slugger does have experience running a team.  As you might recall, Canseco and his twin brother Ozzie were once manager and coach of the Yuma Scorpions baseball team.

Anyway…#Cansecohorns football fever. Catch it!
