When the rumors started circulating that Tracy McGrady was toying with the idea of playing professional baseball now that his 15-year NBA career is over, it was easy to dismiss them.
But, no, as it turns out…dude is serious.
Been working out at Constellation Field w Sugar Land Skeeters. Working on my pitch. Childhood Dream coming true. @SL_Skeeters @AtlanticLg

The kicker? McGrady is actually drawing some interest.
"Tracy McGrady is one of the most elite athletes of this era and we appreciate his interest in pursuing a life-long dream with the Sugar Land Skeeters and the Atlantic League," the team said via a release. "While the Atlantic League is considered the highest level of baseball outside of Major League Baseball, McGrady has demonstrated skill, determination and diligence during his training program at Constellation Field. We look forward to monitoring his progress."
And his progress? Well…that depends on who you ask.
"He's not there yet," Roger Clemens, who has been working with the 34-year-old McGrady, told the Houston Chronicle. "(He) needs more time and needs to react to live hitters and balls coming back (toward) him."
"I have a nice slider. I picked it up in ten minutes," McGrady added. "I also have a good splitter…and my command is pretty good."
Picked up his slider in ten minutes. Ten. Minutes.
What do you think? Does the seven-time NBA All-Star have a shot…or is the guy delusional?!?
