According to Rotten Tomatoes, the new movie “Million Dollar Arm” is straddling the line between “fresh” and “rotten”…but that didn’t stop some of baseball’s elite from hitting the premiere Wednesday.
Among those in attendance, Hall of Famer Rollie Fingers, Steve Garvey, Eric Davis and, apparently to the surprise of some…Barry Bonds.

It is a feel good movie and it is about family and that’s what you want from a good baseball film,” the film’s star Jon Hamm said of the movie. “Plus, it has to do with my favorite sport in the world — baseball, which is one of the few sports that doesn’t have a clock ticking at all times. It can go on forever.”
Now, in case you’ve been living under a rock for the past few months, the story for “Million Dollar Arm” was inspired by those the two javelin throwers-turned-cricket players from India who, after taking part in a reality show, came to the States, and tried out for the Pittsburgh Pirates.
If so, you probably won’t need to see “Million Dollar Arm”…the film version of that very same story. Unless you’re a fan of Jon Hamm.
Oh, and before you get all, “I wonder how this will end” about this movie, remember this…you’ve never heard the names Rinku Singh and Dinesh Patel and this movie is being distributed by Disney.
“Million Dollar Arm” will be in theaters May 16.
