In the 2002 MLB Draft, Josh Murray was selected in the second round (48th overall) by the Milwaukee Brewers.
Now, almost a dozen years later, the former Minor League infielder-turned-financial advisor received the final rose from Andi Dorfman on this year’s installment of “The Bachelorette”.
“When I decided to give up my first love – baseball – all those years ago, a big reason why was because I knew there was a great love that existed somewhere,” Murray told Dorfman during the finale of ABC’s semi-annual stud auction. “You are the answer to all my prayers. You are the woman of my dreams. You are the woman that I never thought existed in this world. I know deep down in my heart I am the only man who can make you smile the way you do.”
Dorfman’s response? You’ll never, ever guess!
“It has been a struggle for me, a challenge. And the truth is that…from the first time I met you, I was scared,” the bachelorette nervously. “It has taken a lot of thought for me to get here and I know that that feeling from the very first time I saw you…I know that feeling right now, is love!”
Then, as is customary following one of these shows, Murray then dropped down to one knee and proposed.

Before Monday night, Murray might have best been known for being the older brother of former Georgia quarterback Aaron Murray, played professionally for parts of six seasons. In 294 games, he hit .213 with 23 home runs. The 29-year-old Tampa native hung up his cleats in 2007.
Following his baseball career, Murray attended the University of Tampa before transferring to the University of Georgia. There, he walked on to the football team while his younger brother was the starting quarterback.
