On August 31, Adam Dunn was traded from the Chicago White Sox to the Oakland A’s. A day later, he was in the lineup hitting home runs for his new team.
And while the “Big Donkey” is far from hurting in the money department, one eagle-eyed fan noticed that he is still going the bargain route and sporting the old gear.

Not a big deal, right? The 1986 Boston Red Sox would like to kindly disagree.
You see, according to a number of conspiracy theorists baseball historians, Boston lost Game Six of the World Series because Bill Buckner had, seemingly, jinxed the team by wearing a Chicago Cubs batting glove under his mitt.
Sure, the White Sox don’t quite have the doomed legacy of either the Cubs or the pre-2004 Red Sox, but still….I’m going to suggest Oakland either politely asks Dunn to sit out the postseason or, and this is more likely the case, swap out some old for new.
