And just like that…Pete Rose is seemingly everywhere.
Friday night, baseball’s hit king appeared on an episode of “Tanked” over on Animal Planet. Turns out, Rose is friends with the show’s patriarch Irwin “The General” Raymer.
“Irwin and I always had two things in common,” Rose said during the show. “We love sports and we love aquariums. I want a fish tank.”
Raymer’s son Brett and son-in-law Wayde King are the owners of the Las Vegas-based Acrylic Tank Manufacturing and, as luck would have it, Rose spends a majority of his time in Sin City. And what kind of fish tank does the former Cincinnati Reds legend want? Rose would like a baseball-themed fish tank (naturally) with the Reds’ Riverfront Stadium in the background.
Makes sense.
There’s conflict, however. Rose’s fiancee Kiana Kim, wait for it, is “not sold” on the idea. So, naturally, the boys flew to California to talk Kim into accepting the idea of installing an aquarium in her house. But…not before the former leader of “The Big Red Machine” dispensed a little hitting advice.
And when it was all said and done, the boys revealed their creation (complete with batfish) to Rose and Kim to, it would seem…positive results.
