Say what you want about Chase Utley, dude seemingly has his heart in the right place.
But, first…meet Julie Kramer.
The New Jersey native is battling stage 4 synovial sarcoma and, apparently, a pretty big fan of Ellen DeGeneres. Monday, after a social media campaign started by her friends, the 23-year-old was able to meet the talk show host and even appear on her show.
And then it got even cooler.
Not only is Kramer a huge fan of DeGeneres…she loves the Philadelphia Phillies. So, as part of her gift to Kramer, DeGeneres not only gave her $10,000 and a bunch of Phillies gear, she also surprised Kramer with a visit from the cancer victim’s favorite player, you guessed it…Utley.
The best part…the six-time All-Star second baseman extended Kramer an open invitation to make the 30-mile trip from Tabernacle, NJ to Philadelphia to attend as many games as she would like at Citizens Bank Park as his personal guest.
Pretty cool.
