Miami Marlins Look to #RewriteTheFuture

Talk to any Chicago Cubs fan and, much like the last 107 years, they’re liable to tell you this is the year. And no, it has little to do with any promise they may (or may not) be showing on the field.

It has everything to do with a movie.  You know…that movie.

Unfortunately, there are a couple things Cubs fans are ignoring. First, the obvious. There is a not a Miami team that uses an alligator (or crocodile?) as a mascot. Next, how could the World Series be over on October 21 (sweep or otherwise) when the 2015 season isn’t over until October 4?

Oh…and it’s a movie. But, we sure like to have fun, don’t we?

Back in February, the Montgomery Biscuits, the Double-A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays, came up with a theme night to beat all others. When the Biscuits take the field, they’ll be wearing jerseys designed to look like Marty McFly’s iconic orange vest, white-checkered shirt and denim jacket combo.

Pretty cool, right?

Well, the Grinnin’ Gators Marlins have come up with a season-long promotion that’ll knock the socks off any baseball and/or movie fan…casual or otherwise. Among the planned events, a #RewriteTheFuture series against the Cubs (including “2015 American League Champions” t-shirts) and an awesome “Billy McFly” bobblehead night.

Kudos to the Marlins for not letting every other team but them cash in on their cinematic failure. And if anyone can get me one of those #RewriteTheFuture t-shirts…I will be eternally grateful.
