Plenty is made about baseball teams and their famous fans and this past World Series had its fair share.
Representing the Kansas City Royals fan base were comedic actors Paul Rudd, Jason Sudeikis, Rob Riggle and Eric Stonestreet while the New York Mets were led by heavyweights Jerry Seinfeld, Chris Rock and Billy Joel.
And while the newly minted World Champs might not have as much star power as their opponents, their gaggle of funny fans did get the last laugh…in the form of one of Hollywood’s biggest names.
While promoting her latest movie “Secret in Their Eyes”, Julia Roberts couldn’t help but bring up the Royals when a reporter from Kansas City hit the room. As the 2000 Academy Award winner told KSHB’s Mitch Weber, her eight-year-old son Henry took quite a shine to the eventual World Series winners.
