Not long after word of Tommy Hanson’s death made it’s way to social media…the whispers of drug use started making the rounds.

Because that’s what happens when an athlete suddenly dies of “catastrophic organ failure” at 29-years-old.

First, it was just speculation.. Then, while the pitcher’s Major League Baseball brethren mourned his passing, came the claims that the guy Hanson was allegedly with at the time of his “catastrophic organ failure” was a suspected cocaine user.

Tuesday night…we were hit with this courtesy WSB Sports Director Zach Klein.

And then…this.

Naturally, an official cause of death for Hanson is pending an autopsy and a coroner’s report, but some quick connecting of the dots makes it appear as though the whispers might be more than just that.

But who really knows for sure?
