Whoever said “you can never have too much of a good thing” never had 600 bobbleheads of former San Diego Padres outfielder Chris Denorfia bobbleheads dumped in front of their house.
But that’s exactly what happened to Philip Jia and his San Diego roommates recently. So, the roomies did what anyone would do if they went outside and noticed hundreds of outdated bobbleheads in front of their crib…they called the cops.
“We thought it was from a drug cartel or something,” Jia’s roommate Jalena Lau said. “But when we went through them, they were just regular bobbleheads.”
“We opened them up expecting to find something a little more nefarious,” Jia added. “I’m now a huge Chris Denorfia fan.
Oh, and the “too much of a good thing” adage? That dates back to William Shakespeare, but, yeah, I’m guessing 500-year-old references to “As You Like It” don’t apply here…unless bobbleheads are your life.
“My first thought was, maybe they had the address wrong and these were intended for the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum,” museum co-founder and CEO Phil Sklar told The Hall. “We never care when large batches of bobbleheads arrive here!”
