‘tis the season for minor league teams to trot out their array of promo nights and so far…the Albuquerque Isotopes might have already taken the early lead.
Thursday, the Triple-A affiliate of the Colorado Rockies announced that amid their regular schedule of fireworks displays, fifty cent hot dog nights and an appearance by the Zooperstars, they’ll be hosting a “Better Call Saul” night at Isotopes Park.
And the best part? Yeah…it’s those Jimmy McGill/Saul Goodman jerseys.

“’Breaking Bad’ was filmed in Albuquerque and the prequel ‘Better Call Saul’ is also filmed in Albuquerque,” Isotopes play-by-play man Josh Suchon told The Hall of Very Good. “Numerous people in our office have been trying to figure out a way to capitalize on the number of people who love (these shows). Finally, our general manager found the right person at AMC, pitched this idea and, yeah, we’re going to wear jerseys with ‘Slippin’ Jimmy’s face on them.”
Now, if you don’t mind, I’ve got a flight to book…it seems like I have a game to catch in August.
