As you might’ve heard, Derek Jeter added another ring to his collection Saturday when he tied the knot with longtime fiancé Hannah Davis.
Among the reported 100 well-wishers were former teammates Jorge Posada, Tino Martinez and Andruw Jones. Not in attendance, longtime teammate Phil Hughes…but he had a good excuse.
Dude just had a rib removed.
Even though he’s recovering, the righty still managed to send his congratulations to the newly-minted Mr. and Mrs. Derek Sanderson Jeter from afar.
Cheers Derek on your big day! pic.twitter.com/gAe9tEovfd

Now, if you’re having a case of little déjà vu…you are. We’ve all seen that tweet (or at least the picture) before.

It would appear that we’re all just witnesses to a clever cat and mouse game that’s been going on for a few years.
You see, while recovering from ankle surgery in 2013, Jeets was spotted leaving a Greenwich Village Starbucks with the name “Philip” on the side.
At the time, it was speculated that “Philip” meant one of three things…Jeter was still using a pseudonym when in public (he used to go by “Johnny Drama” while on the road), the barista on duty got his name wrong or, simply, dude walked out with someone else’s brew.
But, of course, when Hughes’ “Sanderson” picture hit the Twitters…we knew the real story.
Your move, Jeter.
