Ok, so they aren’t really three of a kind but it was a catchy title to tell you about the three free agents I have up my sleeve this week. I was supposed to do one each of the last two weeks but I got busy and didn’t get around to it. You now get three in one.
Paul Bissonnette
I see no reason why Biz would not be resigned. He is inexpensive and works hard. He shows up every time he is called on and gives 100%. It may not show it on the stat sheet but he does all the little things that help the team. His pressure leads to goals for the Coyotes.
He finished the year with 2 goals and 6 assists. The fans love it when Biz scores and he often takes shots when others may not be willing to do so. He also provides the toughness we need. He is not afraid to get into scrums or fight as needed.
I also believe he wants to stay in Phoenix.
Jeff Halpern
I am really not sure about Halpern. He may just retire. He turned 38 last month. He was serviceable for what we needed. Could we find someone younger? Maybe. He had 5 goals and 7 assists. We would need someone that could win faceoffs.
I wouldn’t be upset if we resigned him. I also wouldn’t be upset if he retired and went to sell donuts full time.
Dave Moss
Dave Moss is another where I have no real feelings. I wouldn’t care if he resigned or if he went somewhere else. If he left we would need to find someone to score his 22 points (8 goals, 14 assists). He does his job. He doesn’t do it flashy but he does it.
I really don’t have much more to say about Moss. He is just kind of there. He seems to be dependable. He looks like he is always giving 100%.
There are three free agents coming up for the Coyotes. I know I didn’t write much but there isn’t a lot to say. They all three play their role and do it well. I wouldn’t be upset if we resigned any of them. If we don’t we have to replace them because they each bring a little something to the team.
What are your thoughts on Biz, Halpern and Moss? Do you want to see them in a Coyotes uniform next season? Who would you replace them with if they don’t resign?
