The Coyotes had another week much like before Christmas. Tuesday against the Blackhawks was a disaster. Yes, the Coyotes scored 5 goals but Chicago scored 7. Seven goals should only be scored in the All-Star game, with John Scott as captain. The only bright spot in the Chicago game was Doan getting a hat trick, just his second ever, and tying Dale Hawerchuk’s record for goals in the franchise. Silver linings.

Fans didn’t have to wait long to see Shane Doan surpass Hawerchuck’s franchise record. Doan opened the Coyotes scoring with a beauty of a play with Max Domi. Domi had a lot to say about the play…
“(Doan) had the puck and made a great (pass) to me and I knew I was going to give it back to him. I’m not really a goal scorer. He has six million goals anyway so I figured here’s one more.”
The game between Winnipeg and Arizona was an exciting one but Arizona was able to walk away with the win. There were a few moments of worry, when Winnipeg scored first and when Arizona finally got a power play. The Coyotes first power play was a disaster but eventually, they figured it out. The Coyotes ended up with two of four goals from their power play.
With the win over Winnipeg, 2015 came to an end for the Coyotes. 2015 ended much better than anyone would have expected for the Coyotes. Before the season started the Coyotes were written off, expected to tank, to finish last. Fans knew Domi and Duclair would bring entertainment and excitement to games but no one expected the team to be in the playoff hunt as 2015 drew to a close.

He may not be as flashy or getting the points that Domi and Duclair are but he brings it to every shift. He does all the little things right. He battles hard.
