The Toronto Raptors marked their 15th anniversary of calling Air Canada Centre home, with a 98-91 win over the visiting Cleveland Cavaliers; breaking the Cavs' six-game winning streak.
Terrence Ross' jumpshot was falling, and on this night he led the Raptors in scoring with 20 points; while collecting 3 steals. Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan both had 14 points for the Raptors. Lowry also added 9 assists and 6 rebounds, while DeRozan pulled down 4 rebounds, and handed out 5 assists of his own. Jonas Valanciunas was getting back to his January form, and had an extremely effective night. Jonas posted 18 points, pulled down 9 rebounds, and blocked 2 shots.
Luol Deng scored 21 points and grabbed 11 boards, while Kyrie Irving scored 17 points and dished out 9 assists for the Cavaliers in the loss. This marked the Cavs' first loss since February 5th, having won their previous 6 games. Canadians & Toronto natives, Tristan Thompson & Anthony Bennett, both contributed despite coming out on the losing end. Thompson recorded 13 points and 9 rebounds, while Bennett provided 9 points and 3 rebounds for the Cavs.
The Toronto Raptors are still holding onto 3rd place in the Eastern Conference, with a 30-25 record, staying just ahead of the 4th place Chicago Bulls who are a half game back.
