It was the longest elapsed game in Toronto Raptors history, taking 3 hours and 32 minutes to complete and in the end, the Washington Wizards left Air Canada Centre victorious with a 134-129 triple overtime victory over the Raptors.
The Raptors' Terrence Ross suffered a sprained left ankle near the end of the second quarter and did not return to the game. The Raptors also gave up 36 points to the Wizards in the second quarter, which proved to be a factor with the game eventually going into overtime.
Given the length of the game several players were the victims of disqualification. Amir Johnson, Kyle Lowry, and Patrick Patterson all eventually fouled out of the game for the Raptors. Trvor Ariza & Marcin Gortat both fouled out for the Wizards.
All thirteen Toronto Raptors played in the game, although Landry FIelds, Chuck Hayes, and Nando De Colo only saw the court in situational play after timeouts or to avoid another key Raptor from picking up a foul, which adding up to only seconds of time on the court.
DeMar lead the team in minutes & points; playing an incredible 57 minutes in the game, scoring 34 points (including a crafty basket at the end of the 2nd overtime to tie the game at 118 a piece, to send it to a third overtime), while dishing out 6 assists. Greivis Vasquez was huge off the bench, putting up 26 points and handing out 8 assists of his own. Kyle Lowry had a near triple-double, 18 points, 10 assists, and 9 rebounds, but unfortunately fouled out of the contest in his massive 54 minutes played. Amir Johnson, who also fouled out, scored 18 points and collected 9 rebounds and 2 blocked shots in his 42 minutes of playing time.
John Wall & Marcin Gortat led the way for the Washngton Wizards, each scoring 31 points. Trevor Ariza (18 points & 10 rebounds), Marcin Gortat (31 points, 12 rebounds, 4 blocked shots) and Bradley Beal (11 points, 10 rebounds) all had double-doubles in the victory. John Wall & Chris Singleton almost posted double-doubles as well, with Wall's 9 assists, and Singeleton posting 13 points & 9 rebounds in only 25 minutes.
The Raptors were 3-0 against the Wizards heading into this final regular season meeting against Washington DC's squad. This loss snapped the Raptors' 3 game winning streak.
Up next for the Raptors, are the Golden State Warriors who will be visiting Toronto for a late afternoon, 4pm ET tipoff on Sunday.
