Celtics Obliterating Orlando 128-98

An all in effort from the Celtics tonight paid off in huge dividends, as Isaiah Thomas and company ran out Orlando 128-98 at TD Garden, which makes this the C’s second consecutive win after defeating Houston this past Wednesday.

As we all know about “The Little Guy”, Thomas once again delivered with a 21 point performance, which surpasses Kevin McHale for second most consecutive games with 20+ points with 30 straight (only trailing Havlicek, who has 40). A balanced performance with involvement from the rest of the roster, completed an obliteration of Orlando, who is coming off a two game losing streak, has now been sunk down three consecutive games.

Jaylen Brown was a pleasant surprise here for Boston, as he put up 20 points and 8 boards, which was one of his best performances this year as a rookie. We saw constant aggressiveness and willingness to look for the open guy, and with the absence of Avery Bradley, Brown was subjected to a good portion of minutes. Jae Crowder also kept up his high level of play dropping 19 points (5-7 3PT) and grabbing 6 boards. Along with Horford sitting this one out with a groin strain, it did not look horrific with the two primary starters out. The constant ball movement and drilling of three balls eventually made Orlando reach a breaking point which resulted in a lopsided defeat.

I personally cannot credit the Celtics and Brad Stevens enough for getting everyone involved in tonight’s game, as everyone listed on the Celtics roster did in fact score at least 2 points. An important factor to be aware of when coaching is the usage of the roster, and Stevens nailed it on the head against his friendly foe Frank Vogel. A what was expected to be a closer win, ended up taking way for Boston to run all over Aaron Gordon and the Orlando Magic.

Next game for the C’s is tomorrow night against the Milwaukee Bucks in Milwaukee.
