Hoops Headlines: Dec 12, 2011

While you are snug in your bed, with visions of sugar plums dancing in your head, The Hoops Manifesto is scouring the internet for all the hoops news you need to know.  Here is your Hoops Headlines for Dec 12, 2001.

NBA

Apparently Chris Paul has been traded to Los Angeles again, this time to the Clippers.  Will the powers that be allow this trade to actually happen this time?

– Meanwhile, the defending champion Dallas Mavericks pulled off a heist, stealing the disgruntled Lamar Odom from the Lakers.  And Kobe Bryant is none too pleased about it.

– The Minnesota Timberwolves are normally not a major player in the free agent market, but it looks like they grabbed last year’s playoff hero J.J. Barea.

– Houston is trying to make a splash themselves, signing restricted free agent Marc Gasol to an offer sheet (but Memphis is expected to match it).

NCAA

– With Kentucky and Ohio State losing, is Syracuse the best team in college basketball now?

– Kansas’ Tyshawn Taylor played the Ohio State game with a torn meniscus and sprained medial collateral ligament.  He had surgery on the knee yesterday and will be out a few weeks.

– The fallout continues for the big Cincinnati-Xavier brawl this past weekend – eight players have been suspended.
