The Pittsburgh Pirates got a visit from an old friend, got up close with teammates on a car ride and slept – a lot this past week.
I’m not going to tell you how to be a fan, or a reader of this Social Media Round Up, but I am going to tell you this – for the length of this post, we’re going to have fun, enjoy Pittsburgh Pirates baseball and banish all of the “sky is falling” rhetoric. Let’s all just look for silver linings. Like Jared Hughes, for instance:

Too bad that didn’t happen the next night or AJ Burnett, who paid a visit to Great American Ballpark with his kids and some friends, could have given them a lift in the Batmobile.

He was visiting with Joe Block and Bob Walk in the Root Sports Pitt Broadcast booth when Andrew McCutchen hit his first home run of the night. AJ casually mentioned that Cutch said he’d hit two for the night.

The Pittsburgh Pirates celebrated a big with that night, which included a homer from Sean Rodriguez. SeanRod is a family man through and through and proudly boasted on Twitter about his dad, Johnny’s New York/Penn League title win as manager of the State College Spikes.
