In our Daily Wake-Up Call, we get you ready for the day with a complete look at all things Pittsburgh Pirates.
Yesterday, Pittsburgh Pirates fans were treated to a tantalizing glimpse of a potent offensive club.
Was it a mirage? An anomaly? Or was it something else?

You can get caught up on yesterday’s game with our Takeaway & Throwaways from the contest. But the biggest and most obvious takeaway is this: this Pittsburgh Pirates offense has talent. That was never a question. We saw what that talent can do. Adam Frazier continued his hot play with a three-run home run. Francisco Cervelli had four hits. Josh Harrison continued his solid play.
Others chipped in as well. As Clint Hurdle told the Post-Gazette’s Stephen Nesbitt:
[perfectpullquote align=”full” cite=”Clint Hurdle as told to Stephen Nesbitt” link=”http://www.post-gazette.com/sports/pirates/2017/05/25/Adam-Frazier-Francisco-Cervelli-lead-charge-as-Pirates-earn-series-split-with-9-4-win-Ivan-Nova/stories/201705250165″ color=”” class=”” size=””]“That’s the way you want to play the game,” Hurdle said. “It’s about community. Everybody needs to put something in.”[/perfectpullquote]The Pittsburgh Pirates also exploded for seven runs in the 10th inning the previous night, overcoming their seemingly allergic tendencies towards the “big inning.”
Make no mistake, this team can flat out hit relative to their talent level. The Pirates gave a glimpse of that over these past two games. Can it continue going forward?
