Hello everyone.
Baseball season is less than two weeks away. Can you believe it? As the weather continues to toy with most of us, we can take solace knowing that games that actually matter are less than a fortnight away.
Yet, Pirates Breakdown has been somewhat inept at preparing you for the season. At least, on these pages. You may have noticed.
Our diminished output over the past thirty days has happened for a variety of reasons. Chief among them would be the effort some of us — chiefly, myself — has put in towards Piratesguide 2018. PG 2018 is a 2018 season-preview book joint-authored by some of us here at PBD and others. Click here for more info.
The effort needed to put the book out and do a quick round of updating over the first week of its release was under-estimated by me, and unfortunately PBD’s output suffered. That, plus some real life stuff, resulted in some days where one post a day was all you saw from us.
That’s just not acceptable.
PBD prides itself on being an independent outlet that pushes the conversation around the Pittsburgh Pirates forward. That doesn’t quite work if you’re not in the conversation to begin with.
For that, we are truly sorry.
However, things are looking up! With the book behind us, and some fresh talent coming in to join our already solid stable of writers, we are going to ramp things up very very soon. We are looking to re-take our place as the go-to independent Pirates news and analysis destination.
For now, I’ll leave it at that. But if you take anything away from this post…stick with us. PBD is about to come roaring back. In a big way.
