In what should be deemed a mere formality, the Kings have picked up the fourth year options of Jason Thompson and Donté Greene as well as the third year options of Tyreke Evans and Omri Casspi. The official press release can be found here.
The four of these players are considered a substantial portion of teams core. Evans won the NBA’s rookie of the year award last season, becoming only the fourth player in league history to average 20 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists as a rookie. Donté Greene will begin the season as the Kings starting small forward while both Casspi and Thompson will be relied on as valuable bench contributors.
