The Sacramento Kings spent big money on Marcus Thornton in free agency last season and for the most part, he delivered. Thornton led the Kings in scoring and provided the perimeter shooting the team so desperately needed.
Like DeMarcus Cousins and Isaiah Thomas, Thornton is here in Las Vegas to support his young teammates, flying out from Louisiana before Friday night’s game.
At first glance, Thornton looks like he has added muscle to his frame. While he is known as a gym rat, he is not known as a workout warrior. The Kings are looking for Thornton to get stronger this off-season in hopes that he will become more durable and avoid the nagging injuries that limited him to just 51 of the teams 66 games a season ago. It looks like Thornton has accepted the challenge.
