When Charles Barkley, Kenny Smith and Shaquille O’Neal are long gone from Inside The NBA, Jason Thompson might want to consider filing an application with TNT. The Kings big man put his broadcasting degree from Rider University to work last night, anchoring the 6 pm sportscast on News 10, Sacramento’s local ABC affiliate.
“I’m the next Ron Burgundy,” Thompson told media after practice and before appearing on camera in households around the greater Sacramento region yesterday. “So look out for me.”
The Kings big man has actual aspirations of going into media after his playing career is through. Maybe this three-minute sportscast might be a good start to his demo reel.
