1. Can Philadelphia snap their losing streak?
The 76ers have lost 17 in a row and 20 of their last 21. They are the poster-child for what has been a season of intentional losing by multiple NBA teams. Sacramento is 1-3 on their season-long seven game road trip out east. If they can’t beat Philadelphia, this trip will spin completely out of control.
2. Michael Carter-Williams vs. Isaiah Thomas
Despite all of the losing, Carter-Williams is primed to win NBA Rookie of the Year. At 6-foot-6, 185 pounds, he is the tallest starting point guard in the league, but can he keep up with the speedy Thomas? In their first match-up, Carter-Williams scored just seven points and handed out five assists in 27 minutes, but that was a long time ago. Thomas dropped in 23 points and seven assists, but the Kings lost 113-104. The rookie posted a triple-double in his last game and is finishing the season strong, while Thomas has struggled with turnovers.
3. Who stops DeMarcus Cousins?
This game has quite a few odd match ups. Philadelphia will start with Sims covering Cousins, but Jarvis Varnado and Byron Mullins better get ready to use their six fouls. Cousins scored just 13 points on Tuesday against the Pistons and will be looking for a big night. Don’t be surprised if he finishes with one of those 30-point-15-rebound performances.
