What do you think of the Sacramento Kings’ 30th anniversary logo?

30th year anniversary logo for the Sacramento Kings

The Sacramento Kings will be celebrating three decades in the capital city this upcoming season.  To commemorate, they’ve unveiled a new 30th anniversary logo, selected by season ticket holders in an online survey.

“We’re excited to unveil a new logo that celebrates three decades of unforgettable Kings basketball in Sacramento,” said Kings President Chris Granger in a prepared statement. “The logo honors the past as we move forward with the future and the new downtown Entertainment and Sports Center (ESC). The next few years will prove to be the most dynamic, and I want to thank our fans for their unwavering support.”

The anniversary logo incorporates elements of modern and throwback eras of Kings basketball.  It features the same red, white and blue color scheme the franchise used from its inaugural season in 1985-86 until the 1994-95 campaign when the team moved to its current white, black and purple theme.

Do you like the franchise’s commemorative logo?  If not, what changes would you make?  Weigh in on the comments and poll below.
