After a strong showing in the FIBA World Cup, 25-year-old guard Zoran Dragic has NBA teams lining up for his services next season. According to multiple reports, the Slovenian born Dragic is fielding offers from the Phoenix Suns, San Antonio Spurs, Indiana Pacers, Miami Heat, Orlando Magic and Sacramento Kings.
The younger brother of 2013-14 NBA’s Most Improved Player Goran Dragic, Zoran turned heads in Spain with his long range shooting and feisty play. He finished the World Cup averaging 12.9 points and four rebounds per game while shooting a robust 43.3 percent from 3-point land.
The Sacramento Kings would love to add another perimeter player with experience. While Zoran Dragic has yet to play an NBA game, he began playing professionally in the Adriatic League at the age of 17 and has 188 games played in European competition.
Last season in the ACB, Dragic averaged 10.4 points per game in 18.6 minutes, but he shot just 29.5 percent from downtown for Unicaja Malaga. Known more for his slashing ability than his shooting touch, the left-handed Dragic is an intense competitor and solid defender.
According to ESPN’s Marc Stein, Dragic has an escape clause in his European contract that allows him to join an NBA team if he signs a contract before the ACB begins in October. There is no word on the exact dollar figure of his potential contract buyout.
