Three things to ponder
1. Karl’s stamp
The Kings team that steps out on the floor on Friday should look vastly different. New head coach George Karl will likely mix up his rotation and lineups, and he intends to run the offense at a faster pace than what the current roster is accustomed to.
2. Turnovers
Karl told the Kings in their first practice that he wants them to make less difficult passes. This would be a good place to start for a club that comes out of the All-Star break ranked 28th in the league in turnovers per game (15.7).
3. Short-handed crew
Sacramento will play without Darren Collison (hip) and Reggie Evans (right knee contusion), while Boston will be missing starters Jared Sullinger (foot), Kelly Olynyk (ankle) and Isaiah Thomas (arriving from trade). The winner of tonight’s contest may need a boost from an unexpected role player or two.
