Vlade Divac’s first big move as Vice President and General Manager was to send Jason Thompson, Nik Stauskas and Carl Landry with some draft options to the Philadelphia 76ers.
The Kings received the rights of two European players: Serbian Luka Mitrovic and Lithuanian Arturas Gudaitis.
Sacramento wanted to see how their European prospects played this year with their teams, but a severe left knee injury has probably ended Mitrovic’s season.
Mitrovic was taken off the court on a stretcher on October 18th and is expected to keep him sidelined for months, his team KK Crvena zvezda said in a statement.
The Serbian forward was playing against the Slovenian Union Olimpija and was having a strong performance before the unfortunate injury. He finished the game with 14 points and five rebounds before the injury happened in the Adriatic League.
Mitrovic was averaging 10.7 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 24.5 minutes. He only played one game in the Euroleague and scored 13 points and grabbed six rebounds in 24 minutes.
The 6-foot-9 Serbian power forward can play in and out, shoot from anywhere and always plays with lots of energy similar to an Omri Casspi.
