A new update of the current five best young players in Europe. Let’s take a look at these interesting prospects.
1 – Juancho Hernagómez (Movistar Estudiantes), 6-foot-9, Power Forward, 1995, Spain.
Last month: 10.8 points, six rebounds, 1.5 steals, 46.1 percent from beyond the arc, in 24.3 minutes.
Hernangómez is still the number one but his stats are falling. He has struggled with his shooting lately but he is still very capable of exploding on any given night because of his talented skill set. The European rookie wall has arrived. But I expect his woes to end soon. He is far too talented to continue to struggle.
2- Nikola Ivanovic (KK Mega Leks), 6-foot-4, Point Guard, 1994, Montenegro.
Last month: 8.3 points, 3.1 rebounds, six assists in 31 minutes.
Ivanovic’s year looks like Hernangómez’s. The point guard from Montenegro is also suffering from the European rookie wall. Although he has scored in double digits in 4 of his last 6 games, Ivanovic has had problems with his shot. He has only scored 27.5 percent of his 3-pointers. But his talent is very good and should not be taken for granted. Ivanovic is too good to struggle like he has.

3- Paul Zipser (FC Bayern Muenchen), 6-foot-8, Small Forward, 1994, Germany.
Last month: 7.2 points, 3.2 rebounds in 16.8 minutes.
The German’s stats don’t show his intangibles. He can shoot, rebound and do whatever the teams needs. Zipser is more than a prospect. He is a real player. He has climbed up in the rankings during the last two months and maybe can end up at the top of the list sooner rather than later.
4- Timothé Luwawu-Cabarrot (KK Mega Leks), 6-foot-6, Small Forward, 1995, France.
Last month: 12.5 points, 2.3 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 2.1 steals, in 27.8 minutes.
The Frenchman has received a lot of attention in the last couple of games. Some mock draft’s project him as a lottery pick. I won’t be surprised if it happens. The kid can flat out play.

5- Luka Doncic (Real Madrid), 6-foot-6, Point Guard, 1999, Slovenia.
Last month: 3.2 points, 2.1 rebounds, 2.7 assists in 13.7 minutes.
If you look these stats, you might wonder why he’s even in the top five. You might even think why he averages over 13 minutes a game. Well it’s simple, the young man from Slovenia is the best prospect in Europe.
Doncic averages 8.4 points, 5.5 rebounds and seven assists per 36 minutes and he is only 16-years-old. He can play with the best players of Europe. He has the talent, physical tools and should be a very good player in the NBA in a few years. He can play the point, he can rebound and is a great defender. He is the best prospect from the Balkans since Goran Dragic.
