If you’re a Sacramento Kings fan, you will never forget the Western Conference Finals in 2002.
Recently, the NBA world experienced a very questionable call during the last 13 seconds of Game 2 between the San Antonio Spurs and Oklahoma City Thunder.
// Chris Webber was color commentating for TNT and exploded when the non-call happened so blatantly in front of him.
Maybe he felt that anguish from Game 6 in 2002 and felt the need to defend Spurs Nation at any cost.
He was invited on the Dan Patrick Show to discuss his passion and outrage and had some interesting things to say.
“I’ve definitely played a game — I’ve played one game in which yes, something smelled weird about the whole situation.”
I’ll say it: He was referring to the worst officiated game in NBA history and that’s according to ex-commissioner David Stern.
Webber also went out to say that he appreciates the current transparency the league has shown when blowing calls but make no mistake about it — he will always live with that “what if” thought because that essentially took away an NBA championship from him and the city of Sacramento.
I want to know what Kings Nation thought about the final 13 seconds of Game 2 between the San Antonio Spurs and Oklahoma City Thunder? Let me know.
