The NBA has spoken:
They will suspend Darren Collison eight games without pay. I had predicted 10 games but this is definitely a good thing for the Sacramento Kings.
Collison pled guilty to a one count of misdemeanor domestic violence on September 2nd 2016. He knows he did wrong and really expressed it:
“This is far from who I am as a person and not something I am proud of,” Collison said in a statement to the Sacramento Bee after pleading guilty. “I take full responsibility for my actions. I have apologized to my beautiful wife that I have known and loved since high school. I appreciate and am thankful for the love and understanding from my family, friends and supporters. Now it is time to put this behind us and move forward.”
I expect the Kings to start Ty Lawson in the first eight games. They play October 4th and 6th before their home preseason opener on October 10th.
ESPN.com first reported the suspension.
